The piece
A complete Porsche Turbo S V8 block, opened up and rebuilt as a coffee table: polished crankcase and cylinder heads, matt black intake manifold at the centre, eight chromed connecting rods standing on either side, pistons arranged in a crown. The Stuttgart crest keeps its place on the cam cover. The toughened-glass top rests on the connecting rods. A living-room piece for those who recognise an engine at first glance.
